Between Film and Free Art
The exhibition of the work of Jan Svankmajer in the Gallery of the City of Prague will be open to public until 3 February 2013.
Artist, puppeteer, world-famous film director and screenwriter Jan Svankmajer (*1934) is the only Czech artist represented in the permanent exhibition of the Tate Gallery, London. His life credo is surrealism.
The concept of the exhibition is based on his films, showing selected artefacts and key sequences as well as other material. To commemorate the occasion, Arbor Vitae publihsed a monograph on the author's work in Czech and English.
