TIN closes, Stichting TIN remains active

28. November 2012

Due to the cuts on culture by the Dutch governement (and despitevarious protests)  the distinguished Theater Instituut Nederland (TIN)  will be closing its doors for the last time at the end of December. Much to our regret!!  For more than eighty years the institute kept the Dutch theatre history alive and supported the theatre sector, including its international promotion. Today we received the last TIN newsletter.

The Stichting TIN will continue to exist - without permanent staff -  with an active, unpaid board. The Stichting TIN remains owner of the unique theatre collection, which will be managed by the University of Amsterdam. In addition, the Stichting TIN remains active as a publicist of the digital Theatre Encyclopedia, the online portrait gallery eenlevenlangtheater.nl and the online TIN job bank and noticeboard.

The international promotion of Dutch performing arts will then be taken over by Promotie Podiumkunsten from 1 January 2013.
